7 year old mare Russian Rumour won the 2m1f handicap comfortably for owners Fillies First. Ridden with effective confidence by our apprentice Olivia Tubb. That win took Olivia to 20 career wins which means she sees her claim now reduced to 5lbs which is a landmark which she will rightly be proud of.
The horse box she was travelling in suffered a blow out which meant she and our other runner on the day were waiting patiently on the hard shoulder of the M4 for over two hours before being rescued by our other horse box allowing her to arrive just in time for her race but only just.
This was Russian Rumour’s seventh career win; her second of the current season. Not bad for a £4k yearling purchase from Ballylinch Stud several years ago. She has been a great servant to the stable albeit at her level. We have been loyal to her and she has more than repaid us.
